Homeland is a small, specialist residential care home providing high-quality care and support for adults with learning disabilities, complex needs and associated support requirements.
We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to live a fulfilling, meaningful and rewarding life, regardless of the complexity of their needs. Our approach is built around providing a safe, nurturing and stimulating home environment where individuals are valued, respected and supported to achieve their full potential.
As a small, purpose-built residential home, Homeland offers a more personalised approach to care, with high levels of staffing to ensure that each individual receives the dedicated attention and support they need. Our staffing model is designed around the people we support, allowing us to respond to individual needs, manage more complex presentations and provide consistency, stability and reassurance.
Our aim is to provide a home for life. We recognise that people's needs may change over time, and we have the experience, knowledge and flexibility to support individuals through those changes, reducing the need for unnecessary moves or disruption to their lives.
What Makes Homeland Different?
Specialist experience: An experienced and knowledgeable team with the skills and understanding to support adults with more complex needs.
High staffing levels: A staffing structure designed to provide dedicated individual support alongside shared support, ensuring people receive the attention they require.
Individualised care: Every person has a personalised support plan reflecting their abilities, preferences, communication, health requirements and aspirations.
A home for life: A commitment to providing long-term stability and continuity of care as individuals' needs evolve.
Quality of life: We look beyond basic care requirements, actively promoting meaningful activities, hobbies, social opportunities and involvement in the local community.
Choice and independence: Supporting individuals to have control over everyday decisions, develop skills and maintain as much independence as possible.
A safe and nurturing environment: A comfortable, well-maintained home where dignity, privacy, respect and emotional wellbeing are central to everything we do.
Our Commitment to Quality – CQC Standards
At Homeland, we recognise that excellent care is about much more than meeting basic regulatory requirements. It is about consistently delivering positive experiences and outcomes for the people who live with us.
Our approach reflects the five key areas against which the Care Quality Commission assesses services:
SAFE – Protecting people from harm
We provide a safe and secure environment with appropriate staffing, safeguarding procedures, individual risk assessments, effective medication management and robust health and safety practices. We believe in promoting positive risk-taking while ensuring people are protected from avoidable harm.
EFFECTIVE – Achieving positive outcomes
Our staff have the knowledge, training and experience to deliver effective support. We work alongside healthcare professionals, families and other agencies to ensure individual health, communication, nutritional and wellbeing needs are understood and met. Care is regularly reviewed to ensure it remains appropriate and effective.
CARING – Treating people with dignity and respect
We believe people should be treated as individuals, not defined by their disabilities or support needs. Our approach is based on kindness, compassion, patience and respect, building trusting relationships and ensuring people feel valued, listened to and at home.
RESPONSIVE – Meeting individual needs
Our support is tailored around each person's needs, wishes and aspirations. We recognise that communication, behaviour, health and emotional needs can be complex, and we adapt our approach accordingly. We promote choice, meaningful activity, personal interests and opportunities to enjoy life within the home and wider community.
WELL-LED – Maintaining excellent standards
Strong leadership, effective management and robust quality assurance underpin the service we provide. We invest in our staff through training, supervision and ongoing development, while continually reviewing our practices to identify opportunities for improvement. We promote an open, supportive culture where high standards, accountability and continuous improvement are expected.
Why Choose Homeland?
Finding the right residential placement for someone with complex needs can be challenging. Families and professionals need confidence that they are choosing a home with the experience, staffing and commitment to provide the right level of support, not just today but for the future.
Homeland offers a small, specialist setting where individuals are genuinely known, understood and supported by a consistent team. Our staffing structure enables us to provide a high level of individual attention, while our experience gives us the confidence to support people whose needs may be more demanding or complex.
We understand the importance of working in partnership with families, social workers, commissioners and healthcare professionals to ensure that every aspect of an individual's care is considered and coordinated.
At Homeland, we don't simply provide a place to live; we provide a home, a dedicated team and the opportunity for a better quality of life.
Our ambition is simple: to deliver consistently high standards of care, provide security and stability for the future, and ensure that every individual has the opportunity to live the best life possible.
Our Home and Environment
Homeland is a purpose-built, three-bedroom residential home situated in a quiet village location, offering a peaceful, comfortable and welcoming environment.
The home has three individual en-suite bedrooms, each providing residents with their own personal space and the opportunity to create a room that reflects their personality, preferences and interests. We believe that having a comfortable and personalised space is an important part of feeling settled and truly at home.
Alongside their private bedrooms, residents have access to welcoming shared facilities, including a kitchen, dining room and lounge. These communal areas provide opportunities to socialise, enjoy meals together, take part in everyday household activities or simply relax in a homely setting.
The property has been purpose-built with accessibility in mind, including accommodation for individuals who use wheelchairs or have additional mobility requirements. The environment is designed to support comfort, accessibility and independence wherever possible.
Individual Lifestyles and Daily Activities
Life at Homeland is about much more than receiving care. We believe that everyone should have opportunities to enjoy their day, pursue personal interests and experience a meaningful lifestyle.
We develop individual daily activity programmes based on each person's needs, abilities, interests, preferences and aspirations. These programmes are flexible and responsive, recognising that everyone has different routines and that choices should remain central to everyday life.
Activities may include hobbies, practical household tasks, social opportunities, outings and involvement in the local community. We encourage people to make choices, develop existing skills, discover new interests and participate in everyday experiences at a level that is right for them.
Our aim is to create an environment that feels like home, where people are comfortable, included and supported to enjoy life in their own way.
At Homeland, we firmly believe that through a consistent, person-centred approach, built on trust, understanding and positive relationships, individuals can achieve their full potential and enjoy a more meaningful, fulfilling and rewarding life.
By providing stability, encouragement and the right level of individual support, we aim to help each person develop their abilities, build confidence, maintain their independence and experience opportunities that enhance their quality of life.
