caroline.kenny@visionhomes.org.uk (01584) 877737 www.visionhomes.org.ukOur residential care services in Shropshire are modern built bungalows set in residential surroundings close to excellent amenities and transport links in Ludlow.
All our specialist homes provide quality accommodation, care and support for individuals who need a higher degree of staffing support than is available within standard residential services.
Occupying a site of just less than half an acre, each of three purpose built bungalows offers individual bedrooms to five people along with a spacious lounge, kitchen area, and bathrooms/ WCs. A fourth bungalow gives the benefit of additional communal rooms which are used for a variety of activities -or simply to find a little peace and quiet.
Although they are located on one site, each bungalow is individually staffed and managed and has a character of its own, reflecting the service users’ interests and aspirations.
The environment in each bungalow is homely whilst robust to meet the individual needs of the service users who come to live with us. All bedrooms are personalised by service users. The gardens are secure and have been designed specifically for people with visual impairments.
The service users themselves are drawn from all over England and a number of ‘locals’ from Shropshire. This variety of backgrounds and experiences has resulted in a rich diversity in the service delivered to individuals who wish to continue to develop their own, highly individual, lifestyles.
Our homes have built their excellent reputation based upon well-established principles of care aiming to deliver an individual Person Centred approach, offering progressive, integrated care pathways for individuals with disabilities.
The care we provide is focused on helping individuals by supporting them to reach their maximum potential to live a fulfilling life. We see every Service User as an individual and every Service User has their own person centred plan tailor made to meet their individual needs.
Vision Homes Association has very high professional standards. Our staff receive a high level of training – not just with statutory training such as moving and handling, health and safety and protection of vulnerable adults. Vision Homes Association develops additional specialist training to ensure that staff feel confident in supporting people with disabilities such as visual impairment, challenging behaviours, epilepsy and diabetes training.
We make sure that all of our service users feel safe and are treated with dignity and respect at all times. We respect their right to privacy when they want it. We listen to what they want and what they say about our service.
Whether support is being paid for by a local authority, through Individual Budgets or out of a person’s own pocket, Vision Homes Association can create a plan that is always tailored to an individual needs whilst promoting independence, dignity and right to live the way they want in their own individual space. We know this approach is important to those we support and we have seen the benefits this support brings to the welfare and health of our service users.
Vision Homes Association strives to provide “bespoke†services, developed around each individuals needs, aspirations, assessments, and information from key persons in the Service User’s life.
