Bramble House
Bramble House is a family owned care home in the centre of Gloucester, registered to provide personal care for 27 older people who have dementia. We are committed to the provision of person-centred quality care for our residents, as well as support and advice for their families. The home has been extensively modernised and re-decorated and we are passionate about providing a warm, homely and friendly environment.
Our staff are professional, committed and friendly, they all receive regular training with a dementia specific focus. In order to meet the needs of our residents, we pride ourselves on our knowledge of dementia and work closely with dementia experts. As a result we have introduced small group living, themed areas, colour coding and memory boxes, all of which are designed to help our residents maintain their independence.
Central to our ethos is to promote equality, to respect our residents as individuals, to uphold their rights to make their own choices, to respect their privacy and to maintain their dignity at all times.
At Bramble House, we believe that activities are essential for physical and mental well-being and our full-time Activities Co-ordinator organises a wide variety of activities including outings in the home's people carrier. We welcome visits from family and friends and encourage our residents to maintain links with clubs, in addition Bramble House has strong links with the local community.
Located close to Gloucester City centre and easily accessible by car and public transport, we have extensive grounds including the benefit of a large and tranquil sensory garden and orchard where our residents can grow their own flowers and vegetables in the purpose-built raised beds or simply spend time enjoying the garden. .
Our chef provides nutritious, home-cooked meals from locally sourced produce. A mobile hairdresser visit weekly and a chiropodist comes to the home regularly. We are happy to arrange other services on request.
If you live at Bramble House, first and foremost this is your home. Just as you would expect, there are no restrictions on visiting hours as we welcome family and friends at all times. In fact, the relationship we build with families and friends is equally important to us. Pets can be brought along during visits too.
